Align objects to a vertex with snap base

To align an object to another using a vertex, in your Snapping settings, set it to "Vertex" and disable Align Rotation to Target. In Object Mode, select the object, press G(Move Tool), then B(Snap Base) and click the reference vertex. Move your mouse cursor to the target vertex and click to snap. You can lock movement to an axis if needed.
